WHEREAS Christ Church North Carolina has been charged with the task of equipping the saints of God for the work of ministry; and
WHEREAS Christ Church is convinced of the priority of Christian education and Christian formation for our children; and
WHEREAS Christ Church, in fulfillment of this charge and conviction, desires to encourage and assist families in the education of their children; and
WHEREAS a significant number of the families of Christ Church have chosen to school their children at home;
BE IT RESOLVED that Christ Church charters Christ the King Home School Cooperative under the supervision of the Session of Christ Church.
THE TERM of this charter shall be for 12 months beginning on the 1st day of June, A. D. 2025 and terminating on May 31, A. D. 2026. This term may be renewed on an annual basis by a simple majority vote of the Session of Christ Church. This charter may be revoked without recourse at any time by a simple majority vote of the Session.
LEADERSHIP in the Cooperative shall be a Board of Directors appointed by consent of the Christ Church Session consisting of at least three men. Board members shall be members of Christ Church in good standing.
FINANCES for the Cooperative are the final responsibility of its Board of Directors. The Session of Christ Church instructs the Diaconate of Christ Church to handle the Cooperative’s funds under direction of its Board of Directors and any Administrator which the Directors may appoint.
MEMBERSHIP in the Cooperative shall be open exclusively to members of Christ Church.
TEACHING duties will be assumed by members of the Cooperative or others upon the approval of the Board of Directors and subject to the doctrinal standards of Christ Church.
ATTENDANCE in the Cooperative is contingent on the maintenance of membership in Christ Church.
DISCIPLINE in the Cooperative is the responsibility of the Board of Directors under the oversight of the Session. All members of the Cooperative agree to abide by disciplinary decisions rendered by the Session through the Board. Both the Board and members of the cooperative agree not to pursue any resolution of disagreements before civil authorities as is prohibited in 1 Corinthians 6. If either party desires arbitration or mediation, it will be administered by a party mutually agreed upon by both the Board and members. If no party can be agreed upon, it will be administered by the Session of Christ Church (with elders who are members of the Board recusing themselves).
AGREED on this 13th day of June, 2025.
